Rocky
Therapy dog
Practice companion dog at the Lindenthal location — a gentle presence for children, trauma patients and seniors.
Personal introduction
Rocky is our practice companion dog in Leipzig-Lindenthal and a firm part of the Therapiezentrum Maliqi team. With his balanced, friendly nature and the natural patience of an experienced family dog he accompanies selected therapy sessions.
His strengths: calm presence in the room, a sensitive feel for the patient’s mood, patient cooperation during movement exercises, and a tail wag at just the right moment. That mix is what makes him suited to his role.
Rocky was carefully prepared for his therapeutic role and only ever works under the supervision of qualified therapists. Breaks, places to retreat to and fixed rest periods are a given — his well-being matters to us as much as that of our patients.
If you would like to learn more about how animal-assisted therapy with Rocky works, who it is suitable for and how we handle hygiene and allergy concerns, you can find every detail on our specialisation page.
Where I work
Rocky is brought in above all in the following situations: with children with ADHD or attention difficulties, in trauma after-care for children and adults, with patients with anxiety disorders, in support of speech therapy and with older patients with dementia.
His involvement is always complementary to professionally led therapy — physio, occupational therapy, osteopathy or neurofeedback — and never a standalone measure.
